LEADER of BIM and
founder of MASSOB, Chief Ralph Uwazuruike, has called on the NJC and
EFCC to investigate the Owerri
High Court Judge, Hon. Justice Kemakolam Ojiako for demanding
the sum of 3 million naira as gratification from him to pervert Justice in a land dispute involving him
(Uwazuruike) and the Judge’s business manager, Barr. Chigozie Ibeama.
In a press statement issued in Onitsha, Anambra State, and
signed by the Biafra Director of information/ Media Assistant to the New Biafra
Head of state, Mazi Chris Mocha explained that the refusal by its leader to
give the gratification was real reason for contempt, disobedience and one month
imprisonment.

also want the NJC to investigate
whose interest the Owerri High Court Judge was serving, re callIing
that the former Director of Department of State Security
(DSS), in Imo State, Mr. Alex .O.
Amechina (now rtd) had in 2005 demanded the sum of N5 million as police
protection fee to stop the incessant raids on the MASSOB freedom house at Okwe.
Mr. Amechina was recalled to DSS Headquarters, investigated
and transferred to training School in Jaji, Jos, Plateau state, where he was
later as punitive measure.
Uwazuruike insisted that as the head of state of New Biafra Nation, he would not appear in
court.
His words, "I am the Head of state of Biafra nation and
Heads of States don't appear in court".
"The judge said I should appear before him, I can't
appear before him because I don't appear before corrupt judges.
You can't ask me to come to your court when you have asked
me to give you financial gratification of 3 million naira and I petitioned you
to the National Judicial Council, NJC, also the case is in the court of Appeal,
reiterated that, "the judge has no jurisdiction over a matter that is in
the court of Appeal".
On the defendant, Barr. Chigozie Iheama, in the case which
is a land matter, he (Uwazuruike Plaintiff),
revealed further that, "the defendant was working in the Presiding
Judge's office when the Justice
Kemakolam Ojiako was just a lawyer
before he was made a Judge and uptill now the defendant, Barr. Chigozie Iheama,
is the manager of his (Judge's) businesses".
He urged the Economic and Financial Crime Commission, EFCC,
to investigate the judge over alleged corrupt practices.
It would be recalled that the judge ruled that Uwazuruike is
hereby found guilty of contempt disobedience to the said order of the court
made on April 2, 2017.
That Uwazuruike is hereby committed/ sentenced to prison
custody and shall be so detained for a period of one month from the date of his
commitment to prison.
